ABOUT CUFFLEY, A BUSHCRAFT COMPANY BRAND

Join us at Cuffley to help students become immersed in nature and engage in new activities, developing their personal skills and making memories.

Part of the Active Learning Group, Cuffley provides outdoor learning experiences for children aged 4 – 18, across a wide range of fun, educational and hands-on school trips. Each itinerary is designed to encourage the development of resilience, team-work and self-confidence.

Cuffley is based in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.

ABOUT THE ROLE

No qualifications are required for this role, as all applicants will complete in-house training and our mentoring scheme before working on one of our camps.However, you do need plenty of enthusiasm and a sense of fun. 

You will be responsible for planning and delivering multi activity sessions at our specialist outdoor learning centre Cuffley. You will ensure that our high level of pastoral care is maintained and safeguarding with Health and Safety at the forefront of every single session. Activities are based around multi activity ranging from high ropes, gladiator, leap of faith and much more we also incorporate target sports to traditional bushcraft skills like fire lighting and shelter building. This role requires enthusiasm, passion, energy, and a desire to lead by example. You will be a role model for our young people, ensuring they leave camp with positive memories that will last them a lifetime. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Leading/instructing multi activities.  

  • Briefing participants about safety and logistics. 

  • Designing outdoor activity programmes and products for different groups. 

  • Imbed the Activity Learning Groups core learning values in each activity session. 

  • Providing high levels of customer service 

  • Driving groups and equipment to the activity site (often involving a minibus and trailer) 

  • Complying with the company culture of health and safety  

  • Carrying out and updating risk assessments 

  • Recording accidents/incidents and writing incident reports 

  • Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing equipment. 

  • Maintenance of the centre  

  • Assisting with pastoral care and welfare duties.

  • Online Training Modules

  • CPD Sessions with senior instructors  

  • Specialist qualifications (e.g., High ropes, climbing etc)
